Features “Yeah You Get Props - Rough Mix” A Bonus Cut Previously Not Available On The Original Release! The self titled record, The Beatnuts, or more affectionately referred to as Street Level, is the full length debut album by the Queens trio. It was released on 21st June, 1994 by Relativity Records just a year after their impressive debut EP, Intoxicated Demons, had turned the Hip Hop world on its ear. The cutting edge production is supplied by Juju and Psycho Les themselves, with contributions from V.I.C. and Lucien (A Tribe Called Quest). It features guest appearances by Grand Puba (Brand Nubian), Miss Jones and DJ Sinister (The X-Ecutioners) amongst others. The Beatnuts garnered commercial success charting on the Billboard Top 200 and boasts two singles, “Props Over Here” and “Hit Me with That”. It is known for its diverse production, hedonistic lyrics and cover art inspired by Hank Mobley’s The Turnaround. It marks the last Beatnuts album before emcee (Kool Ass) Fashion left the group to pursue a solo career under the Muslim inspired alias Al’ Tariq. The Beatnuts is now available for the first time remastered on double vinyl and housed in a deluxe tip on-style vintage gatefold sleeve featuring expanded artwork and liner notes written by Hip Hop historian Noah Uman (WFMU). This collection also includes the “Yeah You Get Props – Rough Mix” previously not available on the album. Tracks: A1. Intro A2. Ya Don’t Stop A3. Props Over Here A4. Hellraiser A5. Are You Ready B1.
