    label: Hanky Panky Records

Alan Tyler is the former leader of the legendary Rockingbirds, British pioneers of the alt-country sound back in the 90s. His new brand album "So Far" revisits themes of that band and we also get covers of classics by Townes Van Zandt, Hank Williams, John Hartford & Larry Butler. The Rockingbirds released 2 albums on Heavenly which were very well received by critics. This critical success was not endorsed by the public, though, which led to the demise of the band in 1995. Alan began his solo career with "Faithful" and returned in 2006 to present "Alan Tyler & The Lost Sons of Littlefield", elected one of the 5 best roots records of the year by "Q"). His current band - featuring Chris Clarke (bass), Paul Lush (guitar), Jim Morrison (violėn and mandolin) and Phil Van Couver (ex-Monochrome Set, -Thee Hypnotics and -Raincoats) and Alan himself – create one of the country-rock records of 2006. A cocktail with a generous portion of Johnny Cash and Townes Van Zandt, garnished with an abundant dose of Waylon Jennings and Kris Kristofferson will leave you thinking: "Has this really been created in the UK?"
