• it's a buffalo Marbles (7", £3.75)

    label: akoustik anarkhy

"Curious, Melodic Fun - an Akoustik Anarkhy trademark - from this mysterious Manchester quartet. Upbeat pop with a lo-fi, alt-country deliverance." Flux * After two sold out 7" singles of early recordings, Marbles is the first track to be taken from the forthcoming debut album íDonít Be Scaredí (released in March next year.) Itís been a busy year for the Mancunian four-piece interspersing album sessions with extensive touring as support for The Courteeners. Marbles is a live favourite and a total earworm, with its chiming guitar riff and shout along chorus about, well, losing your marbles. Loud, lo-fi and utterly irresistible, itís the perfect example of its a buffaloís alt-country tinged take on Mancunian anthemia. Flip-side Belt Me in the Back is a cock-eyedcountry ramble punctuated with off beat drums. Opening as aslow burner it comes to life with its shouty, acapella chorusís mined from the same seam as the local colliery - rough and ready and sprawling with melody.
