• mario bradley My Search (4-track CD, £4.75)

    label: Fury

A true master when it comes to recording and revamping classic tracks. The first track is a blues bopper. Originally recorded by Ben Hewitt, Mario has revamped "My Search" into a dance floor filler by adding a wailing harmonica and a blues bop bopper beat. "Breakout" took two years to complete and is a story of a prison breakout. Everything is on this track from police messages to radio broadcasts, sirens, tracker dogs and helicopters. All of this along with a great dance beat. Mario has added a slap bass and wailing guitar to "The Love Cats" to make this an unusual but brilliant version. Lastly "Cherokee Dance", originally recorded by Bob Landers on Specialty. Mario asked Paul Saunders from Jack Rabbit Slim to lay down a solid tom tom beat. Listen out for the chorus with Cherokee Indians on their war dance. Again this is a hot blues bopper. 4 different styles but written, arranged and produced by Mario Bradley.
