    label: Cousins

Earl 16 started singing aged 13. At 15 he played in the Spanish Town auditorium alongside artists like Big Youth, Mighty Diamonds, Tyrone Taylor, Burning Spear and Boris Gardiner’s Happening Band. In 1978 he linked up with Studio One to record the classic album “Earl Sixteen Showcase”. Rod Taylor is an original reggae singer from the 70’s, famous worldwide for his cultural hits “Ethiopian Kings” and “His Imperial Majesty”. In the early 70’s he formed a harmony trio called The Aliens but the group split up before recording any songs, so Rod went solo and has not looked back since. Relocating to France in the 90’s he has since then recorded for various French labels and gained a massive French & European following. This album continues in the same style with songs of roots & culture, but also contains some wicked dubs. Michael Rose, grammy winner with Black Uhuru, presents a strong vocal album including tracks like “Smoke De Herb”, “Empress Lady” and “Back A Yard” to name a few. Some of the rhythm tracks are original Bunny Lee rhythms which were produced at King Tubbys Studio in the 70’s. TRACKLISTING DISC 1 Earl 16 – Reggae Ambassador 1. Youths of today 2.
