• cavorts Got Your Brass (CD, £11.50)

label: In At the Deep End

Emerging in early 2012, Cavorts are a four piece rock and roll band from the northern frontier town of Barnsley, a place where the coal is black and the riffs even blacker. Playing their first gig supporting Skindred to a sold out Leeds O2, Cavorts soon got noticed by distinguished Canadian label Distort Records (Alexisonfire, Cancer Bats, Comeback Kid) who released their debut EP 'Times Told' that saw them get played on Radio One. Soon after the release of the EP Cavorts were personally invited by Dragonforce to open for them on their UK leg of their 'The Power Within' tour. 'Got Your Brass' is a brash, balls out, no compromising blend of punk and hard rock producing a fierce Rock 'n' Roll vibe, driven by huge riffage and backed up by jaw dropping solos. Consisting of 10 tracks that demonstrate Cavorts are bubbling over with ideas resulting in a variable soundscape of an album exploring their varied influences but always remains obviously Cavorts in style. Whilst hard hitting and anathematic, there is more than enough layers to give each track longevity. Recorded with Jason Sanderson (Lavotchkin, Rolo Tomassi, The Legacy) artwork by Ozzy from Black Spiders.
