    label: Fat Cat

'Other Side' is the second single to be taken from C Duncan's second LP 'The Midnight Sun'. Coming out with a brand new track on the B side. With Other Side Duncan has delved into more expansive and experimental territories, blending electronic elements and sweeping synth sounds with his signature layered vocals and dreamy instrumentation. Other Side comes with a radio mix from Jolyon Thomas - U2, Slaves, M83 and Daughter to name but a few. The single has a bittersweet quality; there is a hopeful charm to proceedings, a reverence in the tone, above all the track showcases a songwriter capable of invoking various emotions in the space of three minutes. At first listen, one might consider the song downbeat, but on repeated listens the hopefulness and joy that characterises much of Duncanís work is evident. Talking about the track Duncan said "Perhaps the most poppy track on the album, this song is lyrically reminiscent of the first album. It is about leaving troubles and woes behind and escaping to somewhere far away. By this point I had toured many different countries and wanted to experience life outside of Glasgow."
