    label: exile on mainstream

Obelyskkh's 2017 exercise in heaviness. The band's fourth full-length 'The Providence' lives by pressure, groove and darkness, leaving much of the former musical and stylistic philosophy behind. Less psychedelic, but more groove! No stoner, but intense doom - all shaped into a crushing maelstrom of utter heaviness. The album starts with a groove-laden concrete ball rolling down your spine. And when the clear, clean and dark vocals set in, the direction is revealed. Drop the needle, and you'll find 'The Providence' is ritualistic, rough and punked out.
