    label: get hip

Issued in the Get Hip Folk Series, here are two early demo recordings from two interesting Pittsburgh-based artists. Zack Keim grew up listening to classic records by Bob Dylan and Nick Drake, and also found inspiration from contemporary acts s.a. Fleet Foxes. 'Alice' was the first acoustic song he ever wrote. Southside American began as the solo project of singer-songwriter Benjamin Sweet, but has expanded over the past few years to include an eclectic group of area musicians. The song 'In The Dust' reminds - more or less - of f.i. Nick Drake and Elliott Smith.
